This play about the imagined beginnings of the Blue Stocking Society (a collection of feminist artists) pushed and pulled between the 1750s and modern day monologues written in the playwright's voice.  While the furniture and costumes were period specific, the bright red linoleum floor, the music, and the direct asides delivered to the audience, asked for a lighting design that could ground us in poetic realism, while also pushing and pulling us through time and style.
